Intuitive Eating + Traditional Eating

If we want emotional and physical healing through food- the two must be combined!

Over the past few months I have had to go grain-free due to gluten intolerance. My diet has become largely what people would label the Paleo/Primal Diet- or the “Caveman” diet. Because I know I don’t do well with a large amount of carbs- I made the decision to go grain-free instead of just gluten-free. After a lot of soul-searching on how such a “restrictive” diet would gel with my passion for Intuitive Eating and Pleasure Eating- I think I have found a way to reconcile the two.

I am SO excited because I have an unbelievable amount of insight now on healing through foods. I am near certain that my PCOS is fully healing which is very exciting to me.

The tricky thing for many people is: changing over to traditional, healing foods will not work alone, because the emotional relationship we have with food can become so complex and dysfunctional that the importance we endow onto foods and indulgence can undermine us at every turn. Conversely, for some people with health problems like PCOS, auto-immune diseases or food allergies- Intuitive Eating alone will not be enough.

So I look forward to writing about how the two will work together! It is incredibly liberating and I am excited to get to share my insight.
